AERIAL SURVEY MAPPING
Geomount Inc. delivers experience in Geospatial data collection, Processing, and 3D modelling methodologies through complete Aerial surveying, mapping, and geographic information systems (GIS) services.
Photogrametry / Lidar
Geomount Inc. employs LiDAR and photogrammetry to generate a complete 3D geospatial imagery/lidar of the target, which is utilized for a variety of purposes such as city planners, project managers, asset network operators, and any other situation where a fully realized 3D model facilitates better decision-making. Geomount Inc.’s survey and ongoing data collection can be used in conjunction with digital twin technology.
ORthographic Mapping
Aerial photography is used to capture orthophotos, which are then geometrically corrected or ‘ortho-rectified’ to a uniform scale. From raw aerial survey images, we create digital orthophotos and orthophoto mosaics. The result is a precise reference that serves the same purpose as a map.
Orthomosaics typically cover large areas and are created by stitching thousands or tens of thousands of images together. Image capture and processing are therefore extremely important and should be managed by experienced professionals.

The enduring nature of high-resolution orthomosaics provides environmentalists insight into vegetation conditions, and land changes over time and to plan new fields.
Topographic surveys similarly assist land planning, allotments, road construction and preparation for utilities and more. Detailed site topography also assists pre-development engineering assessments, with the outputs available for import to BIM and CAD systems.
Drone data collection is incredibly economical in comparison to traditional methods and enables a new level of time-lapse site management.

Land development
Photogrammetry is the use of photographic imagery to determine the underlying geometric principles of landforms and objects. Through precise triangulation, we can obtain accurate 3D coordinates by taking two or more photos in different positions. This service combines the precision of GNSS positioning with the power of aerial imagery.
Geomount Inc. has extensive experience collecting photogrammetric data and delivering it in client reports complete with calculations and recommendations.
Photogrammetry can be used to create two-dimensional scale drawings, three-dimensional terrain models (DTM), and three-dimensional models with photographic features and contours.

This technology, also known as laser scanning, provides extremely precise control and visualization via dense point clouds. LiDAR uses cutting-edge drone technology to allow laser pulses to penetrate dense vegetation and reach the ground surface.
This technology is ideal for terrain modelling, works well in low-light environments, and has a significant advantage over photogrammetry. While photogrammetry can produce a reconstructed digital surface model (DSM), only LiDAR can produce survey-grade DSMs and digital terrain models (DSM).
Not all LiDAR systems are created equal, with high-resolution models necessitating precision hardware.
Geomount’s lidar systems operate in temperatures ranging from -20° to 50° C (-4° to 122° F), with an accuracy of less than 1cm using GNSS stations and GCPs in the site.
Our solution combines LiDAR technology with a certified pilot in Canada to deliver a more cost-effective survey solution that is less expensive than having a manned surveyor on-site.
